Oakville Celtic Fiddle Orchestra Update – Sad and Glad!
The sad news first…
Due to the Covid-19 lock down it doesn’t look like we are going to return to orchestra in time to salvage this season. This of course means that I have to officially cancel the 2019/2020 season. This decision was very difficult for me because it’s was to be my final concert as the Music Director.
Now some good news!
Although we cannot refund the remainder of the orchestra fees (we have already paid the church for the year) we can apply it as credit toward the 2020/2121 season! Every member that paid for the year will receive a $92.00 credit for next year!
Even better News!!
As you know I am stepping down as the Music Director. I would like to officially announce…
drum roll please!
Dan MacDonald will be the new Oakville Celtic Fiddle Orchestra Music Director!
Dan is a great fiddler from Cape Breton Island who is well versed in the Scottish, Irish, and Cape Breton traditions. I am super excited to welcome Dan and feel that he is going to fit right in. On a personal note, I am considering joining the orchestra as a member myself!
Watch for Dan’s bio coming soon!
